Replies will go to me alone. If you want replies to go to a mailing list, redirect them to cpaod-discuss.) Hello! Apologies for not using this version (version 500,000,000 or so?) of the news list before. It took me a while to get around to figuring out how to set moderation controls with mailman (and of course it was simple enough, once I actually got to it). We are having intermittent discussions over on cpaod-discuss (version 500,000,000 of the ever-cursed-and-vanishing cp-list), including about the current news: I am finally going to start publishing again. Rather than picking back up with Cyber-Psychos AOD #11, I'm saving that for a potential future and instead creating CPAOD Chibi #1 (either CPAOD Chibi or CPAOD-Chibi, I leaning toward no hyphen now... if anyone has any anal-retentive obsessive thoughts on the matter I'd be happy to hear/see them). Subject matter? It's still all fringe art and mental aberrations and societal deviations. Same ol'... For the first issue I would like to stick with taking contributions from people I have previously worked with. Why? Because I'm a bit distractable, and I want to get this issue together. Checking out too many different things could side-track me into who knows what and for how many years. Yeah, I'm scatter-brained like that. And I'm eclectic. And I love exploring. So, for this one issue, I don't want to explore. (Well, I do, but...) I just want to put the darned thing together. If anyone has ideas for submissions, get in touch. Some of the basics: articles! Lots of odd little articles about various odd little or big things. I always love those. Reviews... That's another paragraph. Old style reviews: Anything that came out in 2008-2009 is fair game. Music, live music, books, comics, magazines, movies, etc. If you can include an image (cover scan, band photo, whatever), that can legitimately be used (either it was taken/made by you, or released for promotional uses), please do. I want to have one new review section, too, though. This one will be open to CPAOD regulars. In each issue you can pick one favourite thing to review. It doesn't matter if it came out 3 years ago, or 300 years ago. It must be somehow accessible (even if only through a library or museum). Only one thing per person per issue, please. Interviews. I could definitely use some interviews. Contact me about the subject matter (person interviewed) before sending, if you can. It could be that at this very moment interviews are what I want and need the most, so do let me know if you have or can have any for me. Fiction: I don't want as much as I used to use. Ask fast, if you want to pitch any in. Illustrations: I always need illustrators. Let me know if you can be of assistance. I am continuing to use Personal Reality Essays, and have so far only asked one person for one (ie I still have space). I asked Little Fyodor to continue with his "A Few of the Interesting Characters I Have Discovered Under the Floorboards" column, but of course additional coverage of indie bands is always welcome. Small press, indie films, etc, are always welcome too. Why CPAOD Chibi? Because it's small and cute, of course! (When was CPAOD ever not cute?!) This will be home-made. Don't get the wrong picture, we can even bind at home if we want to. Though I don't plan to with this, I plan to saddle staple it. This CPAOD will be more like the earlier issues of Cyber-Psychos AOD than the later ones. I simply don't want to bog myself down with trying to make it Cyber-Psychos AOD again. If it's CPAOD Chibi I feel like it can simply be... CPAOD Chibi... whatever that may be. I'm pretty busy this month (this coming week I finish my last class of the year, AND have jury duty. Odds are juty duty won't amount to anything, I have been through the process but I have never been selected (but... why?! *kidding*). I'm sure stranger things have happened, though. Currently I'm doing a little work on this whenever I can, and then I'll seriously get to work on it next month.
